These are a few of my favorite things.

Love me some Gluten Free Udi Bread..i was very hesitant to try it but glad I did.


Krave Jerky..I love the Chili – lime flavor and it has no nitrates. ..and it is soo good. It is a bit pricey but it’s worth it. Really great if you’re an endurance junkie like me and you need the extra sodium in your diet.


Bruce’s Sweet Potato pancake and waffle mix – I am absolutely NOT a pancake person but the first time I whipped up a batch of these I was in love. I like to throw in a handful of corn in the batter too.. It makes every bite more sweet and crunchy.. and they are even not too bad for you. EVERYTHING in moderation right. ..? Yes, absolutely! I personally like to make a huge batch. .freeze them and thaw one out when the urge strikes and pop it in the toaster for a quick crunchy meal or snack.


Hands down the best cracker ever! And it’s gluten free. All I can say is yum!


This is one I had to Google and I haven’t yet tried. .. but I’m definitely intrigued. Have you tried these?

Corn indiana

I found myself enjoying miles and miles of open roads surrounded by miles and miles of corn.  I absolutely loved and enjoyed every peaceful moment of my 2 hour ride into the country.  I was blessed with little traffic and lots of peace and gratefulness for all I have and all I can experience on the open road.

wpid-7.17dont.jpgThis spoke to me so loudly today when I came upon it while reading one of my favorite blogs Peanut Butter Runner. I’ve been feeling lousy about myself lately and I really don’t know why. .but I want to feel good again. .. and I feel this message is so very important.

Count your blessings

I’ve been a bit burned out on the whole regimented “” thing. ..I’m not burned out on working out as I can’t function without doing something active every day. . Just burned out on the planned part and well the 80 mile bike ride part too…so, where does that leave me?  It leaves me deciding my workouts when I wake up in the morning and skipping masters swim classes all together.   I’ve rather enjoyed this little break and it’s given me a bit more free time too. More time to ENJOY working out.. and more time to enjoy life with my kids.  I was supposed to do a looong bike ride yesterday. . One that would have consumed the better half of my Saturday. . But it didn’t because I replaced it with an hour bike and a 3.5 mi run ..A mid tempo brick workout followed by a day of relaxing with our old neighbors and an evening boat cruise to dinner. Remember to enjoy life and have balance.



Birthday wishes

My beautiful baby turned 10 this month and my baby sister turned 24…of course we had to celebrate with Maggianos and Hello Kitty cake.  It was yummy delicious!  My baby girl always comes up with some crazy gift ideas. . And this year was no exception. .. She wanted a big hanging chair that she could cuddle up in while reading on a summer day or while watching a movie.. This huge chair now has a home in our family room. ..and I’m gonna have to find a more permanent home.  My home is becoming a full on workout facility and daycare. .


How to survive a long ride

1. Do first hour on trainer. You can accomplish alot this way. .such as. ..
-eating a warm breakfast
-warm up your stiff joints while locked in place
-can start super early so as to avoid dark not safe morning rides (or super foggy mornings like today)

2. Find a long course free of traffic. .and full of farms. . They make for great scenery.
-I feel much safer riding 2 abreast and can pass time with enjoyable conversation.
-if you’re a triathlete. .you can ride Aero alot more frequently. ..

Today’s ride was just shy of 75 miles and lasted about 4.75 hours. ..We rode much faster outside but the indoor portion on the trainer always brings down the average speed. Was a great ride minus the couple of butt holes we encountered. .

Where have i been?

My sister came in town and introduced me to my new favorite treat…An iced hazelnut coffee with cream and sugar… Holy cow yummy!  I’ve had 2 today already on top of my normal a couple day habit of coffee with Italian Sweet cream.  You must try this treat…I’m not even going to look at the nutritional content of this beverage. .bc it’s just that good.
